Lily We’d like to introduce you to our newest member of the team and Art buying coordinator, Lily, who has joined us fresh out of uni.

How are you finding emc so far?
It’s been good! I’ve been really lucky to find a job that I’m really interested in and straight out of uni too. The team has been great, and the location sure is a contrast to the madness of London!

Your background is in fine art, how has this prepared you for your role here at emc?
Studying Fine Art gave me a broad variety of skills, but its particularly helped in the research elements of the job. I enjoy the challenge of trying to find the right image for the task and I think my visual awareness and perceptive skills definitely help in this area!

What is it that you love about art?
I’m a very visual person; I remember things mostly by colour. I think I’m mostly attracted to the idea of creating and expressing memories in a creative way, and challenging the viewer’s perception. When you study an artwork you’re also studying a person’s point of view, their thoughts and opinion; and there’s something special about that. It’s like speaking a different language.

What do you enjoy doing outside of emc?
I’m not very good at sitting still so I like to exercise a lot. I enjoy cycling, and I’m currently trying to get back into running. I like shopping, visiting galleries and exploring cities, but there’s got to be the promise of a good restaurant along the way. I’m into cooking too!
