This week HRH The Duke of Edinburgh announced the winners of the 2011 English-Speaking Union English Language Book Awards. And eMC Design is delighted to have been involved with the production of the winning course.
Written by Antonia Clare, Frances Eales, Steve Oakes, JJ Wilson and published by Pearson Longman, Speakout is a new general English course from Pearson ELT. The course has been chosen for it’s innovation in English Language Teaching. The series has been a collaborative effort from the ELT department at Pearson and the BBC and provides a wealth of rich integrated media, imagination and a new approach to teaching English as a foreign language.
eMC Design’s involvement in the project began in Spring 2009 when we started producing the Teachers and Work books for the series. And we’re still involved with the production of the Advanced levels as we speak.
Mike, our MD, was at the awards party on Wednesday evening at Pearson’s Head of Office and had this to say about the event “It was good to meet some of the other people who had worked on this series and to be recognised for our role in its success.”
This is not the first time eMC Design has been involved in an ESU award winning title, in fact only last year Macmillan’s Global series scooped the prestigious award, which was another project our team of designers worked extensively on. And the runner up this year was CUP’s Dynamic Presentations, another book to go through our studio.
If you would like to talk to us about how our talented team of designers can add value to any ELT course material then please e-mail us or give us a ring. We would be delighted to discuss how we might work with you and share our extensive knowledge and expertise in the production of ELT materials.
