This week’s Pic of the Week is of endurance athlete and ocean campaigner Lewis Pugh, who has taken on the challenge of swimming the 350-mile-long English Channel (Land’s End to Dover) to raise awareness of the plight of the world’s oceans. Spending up to five hours each day battling jellyfish stings, treacherous currents, and water temperatures as low as 12 degrees, he hopes to reach Dover in 50 days.

Known as the human polar bear for his swims in the Arctic and Antarctic, Pugh inspires and challenges us to act boldly and courageously to conserve our oceans.
