As the apple harvesting season is coming to a close, it is time for many apple farmers to revel in a bumper bounty, and to savour in the fruits of their hard labour.
Many people in the apple industry will be making merry to celebrate the end of the harvest whilst others will simply be putting their feet up to relax after a busy month on the orchards.
The village of Bromham near to Bedford is no exception to the merriment end of this spectrum. This Sunday will mark its ‘Apple Day’, an annual fete in celebration of everything apple. Growers from all over the local area will be bringing their spoils and visitors will get to sample and buy a vast array of apple based products. To get everyone in the mood for the sweet spoils of Autumn this week’s pic of the week is a tray of toffee apples. Tasty!!
