Today marks one year since I joined the team at emc design as Publishing Services Manager, which like most anniversaries obviously calls for cake!

For those not lucky enough to share a slice, I thought I’d share with you the top three things I’ve learnt about the company over the last 12 months.

1. Everything that goes out of the studio looks awesome

The company’s foundations are rooted in a high standard of design work and an ethos where everyone strives for perfection, so it’s no surprise that there’s an immense amount of time, care and attention taken to getting things looking the best they possibly can before they leave the studio. And there’s so much pride too, not just in the design work, but in the overall quality and technical accuracy too.

Take a look at some of our work here!

2. You won’t meet a more dedicated, hard-working and committed bunch

Having worked with emc in the past as a client, I always knew that the guys here were hard-working. But the truth is that their dedication and commitment to clients and to delivering the best possible content and service goes way beyond what I already knew. Whether it’s working on a sample design, making and checking corrections, crafting a piece of realia, project managing a multi-component course, researching photos or commissioning artwork, the same level of care and dedication goes into the job, and it’s great to be a part of that.

3. It’s not just about the work – it’s also a lovely environment to work in

A light, bright spacious office in the countryside, with an appreciation for good coffee, often an array of freshly cooked bread or baked treats, good music and last but not least, an ever-expanding team of lovely people. What more could you ask for?!

So thank you for the last year, and here’s to the next one!
