We thought it was about time you met Ava!

AvaAva joined us at the end of October to help us in the busy run up to Christmas. She helped to get our Christmas cards sent as well as kept an eye out on our social networks and was generally such a helpful bod that we asked her if she wanted to stay! And we’re so pleased that she said yes! So Ava has now officially joined the emc ranks full time as our Studio and Marketing Assistant and will be concentrating on making sure we’re keeping up to date with all the latest news and trends in the design, publishing and education industries. As well as helping us to run a tight ship with administrative tasks in the studio.

So the next time you’re on Twitter say hello @emcdesignltd or drop by on our Facebook page, LinkedIn, Google+, Ava is keen to meet you!

How are you finding emc so far?
It’s great! Everyone is so welcoming and helpful (and super talented too)! I’m really enjoying the work that I’m doing and the location just makes it even better.

You’ve joined us after finishing college, so what did you study and how is it helping you with what you’re doing here?
I studied Fashion and Textile design at Bedford College. The course was heavily design based, however it touched on the marketing side of the design industry. It was this part of the course where I got my interest for the marketing side of it all. Studying a fashion course meant I was always keeping up with the latest design trends and trends that could potentially affect the design world. And this has helped me gain an eye for detail and an awareness of what visually works or doesn’t.

What do you enjoy doing outside of emc?
I tend to spend a lot of my time seeing friends and family, however I love exploring new places and seeing new things, so I’ll take any chance to visit somewhere new (especially if it’s near the coast). I also enjoy dressmaking. I love the satisfaction of creating something that’s my own design and then being able to wear it!
