Let There Be Facebook! – in schools!

 

This article discusses how one school has embraced Facebook to engage with their student’s summer reading habbits. And so far it sounds like it has been a huge success. According to the author of the article, Tiffany Della Vedova, teachers are struggling to engage students during classes and are blaming Facebook for the level of distractions. As she points out a blanket ban of such site would be prohibitive to the teachers and students who use them pro-actively. And so this summer they have taken a stance. If they can’t beat them, join them!

 

This got us wondering how Publishers could start to engage with social networking within their digital content…
The  possibilities suddenly seem to become endless – what with the advent of new mobile technology and all this talk of digital reading devices.
